When I start my laptop after a reinstallation of windows XP , I am given a countdown for activating windows, when I go to activate I am being told that it is already activated yet the next day when I start I am given a day less to activate, when the countdown runs out I cannot do anything but reinstall windows, can someone please help me out of this situation.
Thanks in anticipation!

If you have a legal copy of windows then call the activation hotline. Microsoft may want you to send them a copy of the Windows COA to prove you own it but other then that it's pretty simple. You can take a picture with a camera and e-mail it to them.

The copy of Windows Home XP is legal it was installed on the laptop when bought new, but the trouble only started after it was reinstalled!
What is the activation hotline Number?
What do I take a picture of to EMail to them?
Thanks for your help.

After you try to activate it should give you a number to call. Call that number and it will ikley pass yoru activation threw just fine. I was saying if they want proof you own that copy of Windows you will likely have to send them a picture of your COA sticker. That's the little sticker on your PC that has your Windows XP product key.
