Windows 10 updates fail.

I have an HP laptop with Win10 home 64 bit Signature edition installed.

When I went to get the latest updates, the updates message reads: You’re currently running a version of Windows that’s nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements.

I downloaded and installed Windows media creator..

When the installation finished there was another message which reads:

0x8007000D_0x20003

The installation failed in the safe_os phase with an error during install_updates operation.

Can you help me with this problem?
thank you
Regards Cliff

When you go to the download page: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10
Does the update work if you choose to update your computer without downloading it to a USB-thumb drive??

And Please RESTART your computer before you try to install the update.. (Please PRESS the "Shift"-button just as you click in the button to turn off the computer, THEN, when the computer is shutdown, you press the power-button again.)

(And, by the way, when you run the media tool, you have to be signed in with an administrative account, for it to work…Right clicking and selecting "Run as admin" does not work if you are a non admin user..)

Thank you for the reply.
That is not the download I have.
I was installing from the download folder.
I will give it another try tomorrow.
I am an administrator.
When i press the dhift key with the restart button, what does that do?
