windows 64-bit vs. 32-bit

Hey Everyone,
I'm debating what version of windows vista to get for my next PC. I know very little OSs except the interface and that I need one to run a computer :D, so please bear with me here.

-Whats the difference between 64-bit and 32-bit vista?
-This is going to be a gaming computer, would a 32-bit or 64 bit processor be better for this purpose?
- The last I heard was that the main format is still 32-bit, will it be harder to find hardware that supports 64-bit?
-The Processor i'm looking at now (this one) is 64-bit. Will it support 32-bit vista, if the 32-bit is still the default for most hardware?

Thanks a bunch guys!

The main difference between the two are, 32bit will only support 3.25gb of ram. 64bit (home premium) will support up to 16gb. Thats the reason i went for it, im using 4gb of ram. Some will say there not as much support for 64bit, but i have yet to run into an issue. Just about everyone that makes drivers for vista will have it for both versions.

If you think you "might" get 4gb in the future, then i would get 64bit. If your only are going to get 2gb, then it really doesn't matter. I must say with games such as crysis, 2gb was almost unplayable. 4Gb really helped performance all around.

Thanks! I will most likely get the 64-bit then, if you say crysis needs a good 4 gigs of ram then it will probably be the same with games in the future.

You won't regret it ;)

Im loving it, as soon as you get it. Disable User Account Control, its the most annoying thing in the world :P

Be warned that some older video games will not work with the Vista 64-bit operating system. If you are looking at operating systems you may want to think about dual booting with Vista 64-bit.

I am currently dual booting with a Linux Operating System and Windows XP. Check out some of the features of Linux Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon at the below link:
