hello everyone!
i have recently run into an issue...
ive been having issues with my computer lately and decided wipe the hdd clean and start all over, i downloaded windows 7 from digial river i believe as an upgrade, but! i dont have a disk i made a disk of the windows 7 build 7100 a loooong time ago. my question is if i can "upgrade" the current version of windows 7 (7100) that i have to the windows 8 consumer preview???

Windows 8 is best installed FRESH, not an upgrade.
W8 is still beta and will shut off in January.
W8 has issues with some driver availability.
Especially hard to get good ATI drivers.

I agree with you. Not only Windows 8 but also Windows 7 even Windows 9 I think it had better fresh install.

Windows 8 just for preview, it is buggy and will not available not longer, so don't use it formally.

Any Windows 7 ATI driver will work with W8, so thats complete nonsense.

All OS will work better as a clean install so that's not a W8 issue.

And where did this windows 9 come from? Windows 8 isn't even available at retail yet.

I don't think that he is actually talking factually about it. I think he is more saying it is always better to clean install.

I mean Windows 9 is Windows future version, it is the best to install full new version with almost all of Windows versions, so it ought to happen to future Windows.

Im running windows 2000 on the laptop im using, I like it as much as win7 if the damn display would go above 800*600 and 16bit color... I guess that is windows 2000's limit.

that is a driver or hardware issue. I am using 1920*1200 @ 32 bit colour under 2000 SP4 right now. Have never had an issue with it at all.
