Windows 7 and Frontpage

Help please. I have been running a website for my local bowls club for a couple of years with more or less no problems, I didn't set it up, that was done by someone who is no longer a member. I was running XP but I have now upgraded to Window 7. Now I cannot load Frontpage nor can I access the website to make any changes. Other members have tried but with no success.
Any advise would be gratefully received.

It sounds like the site may just be down. Where is the server? Are you sure that it is still up? Can anyone even see the site, or is it completely not working.
 
Thanks for replying. The website is still there but I am unable to access it to update it as I cannot load Frontpage onto my Windows 7.
Members can look at it, select various pages, photos etc but I am the only one who, in the past could make changes and update it on a regular basis. It all went wrong when I changed to Windows 7, not realising that there would be problems.

I have FrontPage 2003 installed on my Windows 7 setup and it works without a problem.

You haven't given any details on how you update the website. For example, I keep a copy of the sites I administrate on my hard drive, and after updating it locally, use CoreFTP to upload it into the main webspace.

I'm not sure if you can update a site directly from its website using FrontPage as there are passwords involved and other stuff like that.

You could try reinstalling FrontPage, but Win7 is not the issue.

Good morning.
I have been using Filezilla. I have passwords to access the site. I think the problem maybe that I have been trying to install 2000 Frontpage, that's the only one I have.
I will have to make enquires about the 2003 version but being retired and just on a pension means costs play a large part.

Actually, I am fairly certain that Frontpage 2000 is not going to work on Windows 7 correctly. You may consider re-building the site using a normal HTML editor. Anyhow, I checked out the site and the whole thing is very prestigous! If you ever need any help with the site, let me know! I miss having a project for the greater good and I don't charge any money. It couldn't be too hard to duplicate what you have going on there.

Oh very much so. You just need to get comfortable with another program if you can't really spend the money for Frontpage 2003. (Which is expensive, I went looking for a 'great deal' for you, but there were none to be had). If you can get comfortable with another editor, then it wouldn't be a problem for you to maintain it all on your own. I don't really have any to recommend because I have always just used notepad or wordpad. I don't really recommend that unless you're very fluent in HTML
 
I have spoken with other club members and we are very interested in your offer. Are you saying that everything (or most of it) on the existing website could be copied to another one and also added to or would it be completely new?

No sir, we could copy it exactly as you have it now or if you'd like something different, I can do that too. My email is [email protected] feel free to send me an email and we can get to work straightaway! I'm going to have Sunday - Wednesday off and I can start on it pretty much anytime.
