Windows 7 and gaming

How is everyone doing gaming on Windows 7? I am finally about to get DX10 (Windows XP Pro currently) and I can't wait to play Crysis on Ultra High!!

Any differences or anything that's a bit difficult to deal with on Windows 7?

i was able to play lost planet colones in dx10 with about the same performance as dx9, but visuals were about the same.
the only thing though, is that the resolution i play in was not available in dx10: 1680x1050, i stuck with dx9.
also, i was not able to play hellgate london in dx10 at all, and it messed up my desktop and bsod'
don't have crysis.

Since when does DX10 mean you can't get certain resolutions?

Windows 7 is great for games, I find it runs slightly better than Vista. Also in the later builds it comes with DX11, which although can't be used yet it's still cool its ready for the future.

i'm not saying dx10 doesn't support this resolution. i'm saying lost planet colonies in dx10, does not have my resolution as an option.
does 1680x1050 work for you in LP:C using dx10???
if so, let me know. because it sure as heck not letting me select that resolution.
also, most review sites show that dx10 has less fps than dx9 without much detail or eye candy added. for LP:C i can't really tell the difference, so i stick to dx9 because it has the resolution i use.
dx9 graphics are very good with the latest gpus; i wouln't jump aboard a new os simply because of the latest dx version. i skipped vista completely and don't feel like i'm missing anything.

I do a bit of gaming in Windows 7 and I havent noticed any performance differences from windows XP. ITs working just fine. The only DX10 game I've tried is the HAWX demo...but it was amazing. I'll probably try out a couple others over spring break (the next 2 weeks!).
DX11 will be sweet.
So far, I havent had any major issues with gaming in Windows 7 (however I have had it hang up a couple times when multitasking).

Wouldn't let me play BF2142 online because Punkbuster is lame.

Otherwise it was sweet. Way faster than XP and Vista.
