Windows 7 and IDE DVD Drive

Hi there,

Is that possible to install Windows 7 64bit/32 bit OS from internal IDE DVD drive ? I heard that Windows 7 OS doesn't detect IDE interface like Floppy drive on the net. We should disable IDE Floppy Drive when we install Windows 7. How about the IDE interface DVD drive.... Windows OS only detects SATA optical drive for installing ? Anyone know that ?

thanx

It does however sometimes have an issue with a floppy drive attached to the system when installing windows 7. Even if you don't have one attached sometimes you must disable the floppy in the bios. I had this issue when installing 7 on my machine.

That's why I use XP lol.Everyting works on it...and besides I do not even use things which require Direct X newer then version 9.0 C so...

I've installed Win 7 on quite a few machines with both IDE DVD drives AND floppy drives and have not encountered a problem.

I wonder if the people that have experienced problems were actually trying to use an IDE CD drive instead?
