Windows 7 Bootable DVD

Hi,
I am thinking of Building a new Computer not sure whether to go with Win Vista or 7 any advice on this would be appreciated.
My main question is which ever OS I choose can I make a bootable DVD From it.
An example of this I am currently Running Win Xp and used BartPE with Drive imagexml. In the event of a Problem with Windows etc this allows me to boot from the DVD and Try to fix any problems, Recover a hard drive Image, Back up my Harddrive etc. I would like to make a similar dvd, as BartPe has saved me on more than one occasion.
 
Install windows 7 as Vista wasn't the best. Windows 7 comes with a dvd to install and repair the OS.
 
I've never tried before, but supposedly BartPE doesn't work with either of the two.

However, with both Vista and 7 you can boot into Windows PE with the install disc to make changes/repairs as needed. BartPE effectively is an alternative for Windows PE.
