Windows 7 causing games to minimize on startup?

I've been having this problem for the last few days on my laptop and I can't seem to figure it out. After doing some searching, this appears to be a common issue for Windows 7, but none of the "fixes" I've found have worked. Help would be greatly appreciated!
 
What exactly do you mean?

Did you put a game in STARTUP folder (or registry STARTUP) and you trying to RUN a game AS SOON AS Windows starts up?

Or game minimizes as soon as you run it manually?
 
As soon as I ran a game, it would minimize. I have since fixed the issue, though. For some reason, my computer didn't want to run the games at a high resolution, so I changed it, ran the game (which worked), then changed the resolution back. Everything is fine now.
