windows 7 desktop gadgets

do the desktop gadgets in Windows 7 slow down your computer? I like running a few of the clocks, weather apps on my desktop.... does it matter how many u have running?

in my task manager it says 'sidebar.exe' and running 38,000 memory..... is that alot? I have 3GB ram, dont really notice anything slowing it down, but was curious on how many of these different gadgets I can add.

It depends on your computer and how many gadgets you have running, chances are you are fine, none of the standard performance monitors that I run seem to bog down my performance, but look at my machine.

ok thanks, I have a Pentium Dual Core CPU 2.6ghz
with 3 GB DDR2 ram.... I have 5 of the weather and clock gadgets running. Seems fine... just wanted to know if I have 2 or 5, would there be a difference?

Nah, I have gadgets on a Pentium 3 PC running Windows 7 with no real effects, its perfectly fine.
