Windows 7: Does running as admin not disable the UAC?

I tried setting the property to run as administrator for a couple of programs, thinking this would stop the UAC pop-up that comes up for these programs, but it doesn't. Are these two different things?

Is there a way to do a program-by-program removal of the UAC warning, or do I have to reduce the system-wide UAC setting to make it stop appearing?

you have to change the options in control panel, which are system wide, running as admin does not stop uac, I just turn it off tbh, I find it pretty pointless.

Thanks, I may try that. As far as I can tell, it's never been useful in the years I've used it anyway.
