heyy guys really need some help with my computer ??
it has recently had a massive problem that i have only partly fixed.
the computer showed no display and it cam down to a bad ram stick.
That was taken out and new ram installed but the hard drive is corrupt.
i have used an external os to completly re-format the hard drive and have tried to reinstall windows 7 back onto it,
after going through the setup, choosing languages, selecting where to install windows the install runs as per normal. until.
it gets past everything in the install process but gets to the section (installing updates) as soon as the install gets to this section an error message shows on screen (cannot install in offline mode, all changes will restored back to before the installation)
then goes back to the start of the install?
idk what to do?
i have tried installing on many different hard drives and the same error occours?
dose anybody know how to help me?

So hang on you're trying to install Windows 7 onto an external hard drive?

If you're trying to install it to an internal drive, it definitely sounds like you have a bad hard drive there. Might also be worth trying a different DVD drive and DVD.

its the internal drive, i know it isnt the best because it was corrupt :/
i reformatted the whole thing and tried installing windows still get the same error message.
it says windows is unable to set offline mode then gives me an error code :/
i dont know what to do

I think you should download SeaTools, burn it to a CD, then test your HDD for errors.

You need to download the SeaTools ISO, burn it to a CD, then boot off the CD and let the test start.

Do you know what hard drive you have?

well the drives checked out all fine.
i found an old hardrive stashed away and tried installing windows on that, the same error message came up, also the 64 bit and 32 bit have the same message as soon as it get the the install updates point?
could this be a problem with the install disks?

its the actual windows 7 install disks.
i have 2 packs, but none of them were ever installed... both of the packs
(2 seperate 64 bit and 2 seperate 32 bit) both with different serial codes.
they all come up with the same error message, no matter what disk, or what hard drive.

I think the problem is either your optical drive or possibly something else then. Try removing some RAM and see if it works. Bad RAM can cause Windows installation errors.

i have got new ram for my new rig, but im reluctant to put it in this system due to all the problems i am having.
should i maybee just remove all the ram down to 1 2gb stick that i know works and trial that?

well thats that, it was the ram.
i cant believe how much trouble i have had with this acer mobo and the ram they give you... its a good time to be ugrading my mobo and have all new ram for it.
thank you for the help :)

my internal hard drive is corrupt, so i am installing on a different internal hard drive, hopefully this problem is solved, thank you for all the help you have given i really appreciate it
