Windows 7 installation problem

Hi guys, I've got some issues with Windows 7. A few weeks ago I purchased a new laptop and wanted to install Windows 7 Ultimate x86 on it. Sadly, after few attempts with different DVDs borrowed from different persons, I gave up and installed Windows Vista Ultimate. Yesterday I decided I'd give it another shot, but the same problem occured. Right after it expands files, installs features and updates, Windows 7 has to restart before finishing the instalation. Well, it does restart but stalls at "Starting Windows" and does not pass it. I had the same problems with all Windows 7 dvds, I also tried Windows 7 Home, but still the same. Hope you can help me. Here is my configuration :

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 3066MB RAM
Hard Drive: 320 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce G210M

Thank you.

did you make sure you did a full system format of the drive prior to installing windows 7. Further on this did you set just 1 partition on the drive for windows 7 to install on.

Yes, well the laptop was brand new, so no formating was required. As for the partition, yes I only selected one C:\.

hey, i had the same problem last week with my cousin computer...i found out that his mobo was crap (asus m2n sli) the mobo didnt support win7. but though i took out his HDD/RAM and putted to my pc it installed!. when i putted back to his pc it still got stuck at starting windows. i replaced the ram and it worked perfectly!

in ur case, it can be ur ram or laptop doesnt support 7

One thing is for sure this is a weird problem you certainly have the power in the system for windows 7 but it just won't install. Try looking on the system manufacturers website and see if there has been any other people with this problem.
