I know, I know. I'm not an OEM. I was just wondering if I purchased this; Product the OEM Version, If it would install without a hitch on my desktop.

It will go alright

It's perfectly OK to buy it, one of the definitions by Microsoft for purchasers is
"you must be an installer of software on a computer"
well you can install software on computers, can't you?

You get no pretty box, no manual (not that we do anymore), no support and not both 32 bit and 64 bit disc's. You buy one or the other.

OEM is also tied to the MB and not transferable to another computer.

I'd buy the 64 bit version for your desktop though. I just bought this for my laptop. One of the most seamless, trouble-free, easiest OS installs ever. For the first time in a long time I feel great about the way I installed my OS :D. I've go two separate partitions, one for the OS and the other for everything else. No Vista...Life is wonderful for my laptop right now.

I'm installing the few games I play as we speak. I'm excited about my first "real" OS.

Thanks Guys :)

I wasn't sure, but I think I'll go for it now.

P.S. My Intel Chipset doesn't have x64 support, whomever said that. :P besides W7 x64 hasn't totally taken off yet =/
