I have computer with:
CPU: Intel Core i3-3240,BOX 22nm 3.4Ghz
RAM:4GB DDR3
GPU:AMD Radeon HD 6570 2GB/DDR3

So,I am chosing Windows 7 or Windows XP,please help me I don't know wich system is better on my computer with these configurations...

Definitely Windows 7 64-bit. You'll be able to use all your RAM with the 64-bit OS and 7 will run better on the newer hardware.

XP works up to 4 GB RAM as well but that is the max, windows 7 allows a lot more.I have both on different computers and I prefer the format/layout of XP but 7 allows much more.With7 one often has to type in instructions, such as screen saver, where as that can be easily found in display in the control panel with XP

Definitely use Windows 7 64-bit over XP Pro x64. I have used XP x64 and whilst it's not a bad OS, driver support is scarce (usually) and some software won't work with it.

Some software which requires at least XP SP3 to run won't work with XP x64 because the last service pack for XP x64 was SP2, since XP x64 is basically Windows Server 2003 x64.

Use 64 bit with Win7. It will run. If there was issues you can run in compatibility mode 32 bit. Also remember XP expires sometime in April. No updates.

Actually, Windows XP is not fine for gaming. It lacks DirectX 10 and 11 support. If you want to play new games go with Windows 7 64.

If you're talking to me, I was saying that either Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit would be alright for gaming.

Why not multi-system?You can enjoy both Win7 and Xp.
After a period of time use, maybe you can feel which one is better.
What's more important, you should do system backup first.
There is a free and professional software named AOMEI Backupper which can One-click backup system drive.
Then when you switching system, you don't worry about data loss.

I wouldn't bother multi-booting. Just stick with Windows 7 and if you still like XP, download VirtualBox and create a virtual machine of XP.

Much less time consuming and much less hassle. I've never been a great fan of multi-boots.

Agreed with Spirit. XP is dead.

Vista vs Xp = XP

Windows 7 is the best OS available right now having not had sufficient time (no body really has) with 8.1. But given that, the choice between XP and Win 7 is absolutely easy to answer. 7 all the way, make sure its 64 bit.

I've found 8.1 to be a good operating system but it is still in its early days yet. I think I was one of the few who really didn't mind 8 at all, haha.

But between XP and 7, no question about it - 7 x64.

You would be wasting your time trying to set up a multi-boot between XP and 7.

Win 7 or XP

I'm chiming in with the rest of you guys for Win 7. Win 7 is far easier to install than XP, though XP is my sentimental favorite.

I'm with you, I have Windows 8.1 and and I still like it. But for some people, it's not for everyone. To make things easier for the person. Get Windows 7 Home Premium x64. But if you want more "Security" then Professional or the Ultimate x64.

I also used Windows XP Pro x64. It was the most stable OS that I ever used, and the driver problems were pretty much solved when the software and hardware companies started making things for x64 after Vista came out. In my opinion, Windows XP Pro x64 came out way before it's time.

Yes, XP x64 did come out before its time.

I have a copy of it too. It's a decent OS, but drivers can sometimes be hard to find and since it is really Windows Server 2003 x64 under the hood (and not XP) some software which requires at least XP SP3 to run won't work with XP x64 since SP2 (for Windows Server 2003) is the last service pack for XP x64.
