Windows 7 Premium ??? HELP ACTIVATIOn ?!

Story is i got the Windows 7 premium upgrade for $30 and i used it on my old system 6 months back and i just built my second pc and used the product key again on my new system and i got a message from the Windows Activation. saying to buy another product key , Retype my key, use automated phone activation or contact MS. but what gives? i know you cant have 2 PCs using the same key at the same time, is it a one time use only and i cant transfer ?
 
Well you used it to upgrade the OS on your older system all ready. I don't think you can do that more then once otherwise when people built there new computers they would just ebay a copy of Vista for cheap and do the upgrade for 30$ everytime. The point of the upgrade is to upgrade your Vista OS to seven, on the current computer you have, not on multiple pc's.
 
You can reuse a key code but first you must argue your case with MS. They will make the decision. It's difficult to reach a human being at MS and FAQs won't be of much help. Personally I've had similar cases and decided open source was the way to go. My machine crashed so I scrapped it and built another one. MS wouldn't let me continue to use my copy of vista, said it was already in use.
 
Use the automated phone system and tell the robot you have it only on one machine. Simple as that. If they transfer you to a person, tell them the same thing.
 
i don't think so. change some critical hardware like motherboard or video card it will be rejected has been my experience. i also called and they gave me a new key and canceled out the 1st. they did work with me though.

meant the 2nd key worked after reactivation. deactivated the 1st key.

Can not beat me!

Once I was OCing in BIOS. I booted up, and I got "Your Version of Windows is not genuine"

I was like.......erm.....it was 5mins ago, rebooted again with default BIOS and everything was fine.
