Next question. Defrag. Any suggestions about defrag in windows 7? Any good? quick or and works well. Or do i need a retail to get good results, complete and maybe fast.
Maybe any benchmarks and comparison. I don't mind spending a few dollars if needed. I have an older ver of Perfect disk. Just looking for something to stay with.
thanks

Windows doesn't really need much defragging since Windows 98. So I wouldn't worry about any 3rd party software.

I only defrag maybe a couple times a year.

I only hope your right. Could be. it runs fine. nice reply though. liked it. i do not have any problems. runs just like the day i installed it. no change.
something to consider though your comment.
thanks

I have not noticed any changes in the speed of Win7 from when i installed it. I dont really think you need to spend money on a defrag software if you dont have any problems with Win7.

As everyone else has stated I also have not noticed any change in windows 7 since march and haven't even had to open windows 7 disk defragmenter.

I have noticed changes, and that's because I closely monitor my startup time every week, and I have disabled SuperFetch to see how my machine would run as an experiment once. It does affect it if you don't defrag, you may not notice it, but if you have a standard mechanical drive, it will wear out much faster than it should because the arm has to go all over the place just get a single file. I recommend defragging your system every week, no matter what you do. Windows Disk Defrag is ok, I use Puran Defrag, though, don't have any links.

+1

This change is very little, but after longs periods of time it will become noticeable. It's best to do it now so it want to so long.

I use Defraggler for mine. It's much faster then the built in windows one. It also lets you do a quick defrag. Which I like to run every day, along with a full defrag a week.
