Windows 7 Pro Splash Screen Stops Loading

For some strange reason, the Windows 7 Pro splash screen keeps loading and nothing comes up on the screen. Has anyone ever experienced something like this before? Sometimes, I have to restart the laptop all the time because it just remains on the Welcome screen and keeps loading but nothing comes up on the screen.

I really would like to fix this issue because I need to finish a lot of work.

Sounds like it's trying to install an update or device driver and hanging on it. Tried safe mode?

Yes, most the time Safe Mode works fine. Is there something I can do about it maybe?
