There's still a little kid in me too.
The Pro ver (Upgrade though).
Anything i might need to know?
It will happen later. Im using XP Pro now.
Intel motherboard. Im guessing i will have
to look at updates at intel for Windows 7.
Thats where im at now. it will happen later this evening.

MS usually releases a update compatibility checker on their site you can download and run.

Seems they changed the name of the product and it is now called the upgrade advisor.
