Windows 7 Question

Good day all, how yall doin?

So I am getting ready to build a new computer, and I amw anting to get My copy of Windows 7 to my new HD that I am egtting. Now I bought 'Windows 7 Professional' copy when they had the sale for students. Now I am wanting to get the Key to my other hard drive but I am worried it will count it as 'Invalid'.

Is there a way to add the same keycode to my new computer, making it genuine? Thanks!

I believe its a retail version. Again I got the copy when the Student sales were out.

If you have already installed Windows on another computer you can not transfer it so new hardware. Sorry but you will need another copy of Windows.

if it is the full retail version you can transfer it to another machine, and get it activated, but you cant keep using it on the old machine, you can only use it on one machine at a time.

Can't you just use a program that will retrieve your Key from the registry?

Didn't you get a key when you bought the new one? What version was on your other computer? OEM, upgrade, or retail?
