hello everyone,
i recently put windows 7 on my asus 1005ha-pu1x bk netbook and it wont start, it will go to this screen where (im guessing) it checks for the necessary files to start up, and freezes! like where you see the little bars moving from left to right, (which is different from my desktop, when it starts up i see the 4 lights that make the windows logo) anyway, my netbook freezes at the point where the bars are moving from left to right, and start up repair seems to only restore to certain points where programs ive installed are not there...can anyone help me!? this is a different hard drive than than the factory but i had this problem with the factory hdd too!, and i think the new ram is good because it just finished testing the ram with the diagnostic tool...and im not too sure what else it could be! ive tried setting the hard drive from ahci to ide and still the same no start up! please! if anyone can help me out it would be VERY appreciated! thanx for reading n sorry this post is sooo long!

What new RAM? Did you recently upgrade some RAM? Try taking it out and running your old RAM, just to get installed and running.

Make sure whichever you chose (AHCI) you must leave it there or the pc won't boot. That needs to be set before install, and left in the same setting.

What memory diagnostic tool did you use?

well the netbook came with 1gb of hynix ram, the ram in my signature is the upgrade, n i guess i wasnt being clear...sorry bout that, i already have windows 7 up and running, it has booted up before but only once or so and then it will freeze when trying to boot up again a few hours later after being turned off...this is particularly unusual because at the beginning of the day, when i turn it on, it does the start up repair thing...and is recovered from an earlier time...but then i can go all day turning it on and off and as long as its not more than a few hours, it will boot up fine...if left off for more than like...3 hours it needs to restore to an earlier time!
i dont think its the ram because i used the the windows memory diagnostics tool...i know i should do like...memtest but netbooks dont have cd/dvd drives...so id have to do it by usb...and formatting it n makin it bootable seems redundant...im pretty sure the drivers are up to date but ill have to make sure...but still the problem remains!
how can i get this thing to boot like a normal pc/netbook should!!?

I tried to get Memtest to boot from USB and I failed. Forced to burn disc,
but like you said, that wouldn't help you.

Anyway, is this a new Netbook? It sounds like the CMOS battery my be bad.

ill see about keeping the ahci-ide thing...perhaps thats the reason but ill have to shut down the computer for a few hours and then see what its set on now...and then see if that boots and if not...then i will switch to the other and see if that works
sound good?
