Windows 7 Ultimate clean install

HI,I would like to use an SSD for the operating system and 2 HHD's in Raid0 for storage. My Ga-Ma790GPT-UD3H MB manual is a little confusing to me. I believe that I can install the OS first and configure the Raid0 later. I'm not sure what changes have to be made in the BIOS or if any additional drivers are needed. Any help would be appreciated.

Yep, you can do that. After installation to ssd then attach your other 2 drives and enable raid in the bios. Then you will need to boot into the raid utility to configure raid. Any data on the drives will be erased. You will need to install the raid driver on the ssd before windows will see the raid array.

You don't need to worry about a RAID driver. Just enable RAID on the SATA ports and reboot. Then enter the RAID utility when prompted.

Windows will still need the raid driver installed before you will actually see the drives.

Hi John, thanks again for your advice but I still have to ask-----where do I get the Raid driver for my system. Do I look to the MB manf or the HD manf or Windows 7 or Etc?

Waytogo John----This is what I'm goona do. Clean install Win7 Ultimate onto the SSD drive (single partition). Confirm that Chipset driver is installed, if not install as per your link. Then after installing 2 HHD drives(2 or 3 partitions), boot into BIOS and setup the Riad0 config for the 2 HHD's.
I should be done and a happy camper. Thanks for your help. Frank
