One way to get around the cost of Windows 7 (I think its $240, but that's just by memory) Is to purchase a new OEM computer that comes with the full version of Windows 7
Although the OS is still in the overall cost of the new computer hardware package, I believe it (just the OS part) is less than what you would pay for it by itself
It's called Windows 7 Release Candidate. It's no longer available for Download - but if you can find a copy - I think you can still install and activate it.
Windows 7 RC keys are still available, so if you can find a download somewhere, you're good until June 2010. Starting March 1st, however, it will shut down every 2 hours to remind you it's time to purchase an OS.
The best buy for Windows 7 Ultimate would be to purchase Vista Ultimate OEM
for $189 HERE
I can only assume that if you purchase Vista Ultimate, that the upgrade that comes with it will be Windows 7 Ultimate.
Im running Windows 7 RC 1 64bit Build 7100 right now. Works great man
I also agree, no OS is worth 300 bux, maybe 150 tops. Microsoft gets away with it because of OEM computers. If it wasn't for them, their OS's wouldn't be bought.
