Windows 7 won't recognize IDE 2nd drive

I've got Win7 Home Premium running on an IDE drive. Tried connecting another IDE drive on the slave connector on the same cable but can't get it to show up. Tried various jumper settings, nothing. When I hook it up by itself on the same IDE cable slave connector with an XP system drive that's SATA, shows up no problem.

Any suggestions as to what's going on?

Thanks.

IDE drives have jumpers. Make sure the first drive is set for master and the second slave or you need to set both to cable select.
