I need your guys thoughts on it. Good? Bad? The next vista? Should I upgrade when it finally comes out, and is out of the beta testing stage? So far Vista has been good to me.

all of the feedback i have seen has been in praise of it. PC gamer wrote a brief but great article on it and really got me excited for the release. you can download it as a beta and use it until august.

If you are using vista now wait for atleast six months to a year after os 7 has been release before u upgrade. Just wait is the name of the game. Software that just release always have bugs in them.

dont know if you guys have heard but i found out that 7 is due for release in september (all 37 different versions), i do know how true this is though.

normaly yeah im with you on that but 7 is vista just with few things added and a lot taken out so i should be really stable from it's release. beta's are normaly crap but build 7000 is very stable and i aint found no bug in it yet so final should be even more stable.
shame MS aint sorted out the speed issue yet, its still slow like vista which it a pain in the ass

I'm actually proud of MS--they limited the number of versions to about three...

Anyway, I've only heard good reviews about Windows 7. It seems like a trend right now in OS development (both Apple and MS are doing it) to work on streamlining the OS rather than making more features. In Windows 7, MS is actually taking out some features (and replacing them with the Windows Live stuff). I'd imagine the first release of Windows 7 will be fairly stable. The only thing I can imagine that would cause problems is the new taskbar. Windows 7 beta has actually shown to be more stable than Vista.

As a sidenote, Apple is preparing for their release of Snow Leopard, the successor to Leopard. Leopard released lots of new features, but it started to get clunky. Apple wants to release Snow Leopard to fix everything they have done wrong with Leopard. This includes improving performance, unifying the UI, simplifying Quicktime (and other apps), etc. It seems like MS is doing about the same thing.

I'm very excited about Windows 7 and will get it if it is under $80 for an upgrade from Vista.

I love Windows 7, I'm currently BETA testing it, it's like everything Vista was meant to be and more.

So stable even for a BETA.. the new features of it are really useful, I do a lot of dragging and dropping files from folder to folder or USB stick, so the feature that allows you to have 2 windows up to fill half the screen I use a lot, the AeroPeek is great but not very stable, the DWM.exe service gives me a black desktop everytime I startup but is fine after I terminate it.

Everything is great, the only thing about the BETA that I've found to be a pain is compatibility with Antivirus softwares, I'm used to Kaspersky Suite but I'm having to make due with AVG free as it's the only one I've found to not give me a blue screen.

Overall I love it, I will definately be buying this when it comes out, I think in my opinion though that BETA testers should get a free copy though for their input and testing. :D

I'm also beta testing the program and I like it better than vista. My main OS is windows xp prox64. And don't go bashing it guys, I've had very little problems with it. It is the software companies that are behind in the times.

I really like it. Things seem more organized, and faster. It seems more finished than vista, it also even warns you when you don't have a virus scanner installed, and integrates third party software more.
