Windows 7

Yes, I think you do need to type the exact number to get each gigabyte. When I did 20gb, I had 500mb less than exactly 20gb (480mb) - You can always extend the volume later though.

Anyone know what the max ram is for Windows 7? Is there a 32 bit and 64 bit version again?

Are both versions DX10?

32bit has a 4gb max again, which includes video ram and whatever else counts towards that. 64bit has some ungodly max like 128gb or something lol

Does Windows 7 beta have DX10? Could I partition a piece of my harddrive off, installs Windows 7, and see how my PC handles DX10 games?

Yeah it has DX10, possibly DX11, thats still a little grey to me. My rigs running games just as well as it did in XP. I have however had a few issues with 7 getting hung up (not responsive) sometimes.

If you partition it correctly, you won't lose anything. Go into the partition area, in vista it's Administrative tools, and "create and format hard disk partitions" - ... When installing 7, make sure you click custom installation, and just select the new drive name for installing it.

I used partition magic to resize partitions when I was in XP then loaded up 7. When I loaded 7, it seemed to have saved all my stuff from XP so if youre willing to take the risk, you can just upgrade to 7 and not worry about transfering all your stuff over (id say this is probably pretty sketchy though).

EDIT: Oh, youre talking about if youre going to dual boot. I used a partition to transfer my files over and once I installed 7, I saw it wasnt necessary.
