Hmm weird. When I right click on a tile all of the options are still there for me, including Unpin from Start and Uninstall...
Are you seeing these options now you've changed the settings?

There are some updates you need to have installed before you can install Update 1. Make sure you've got them installed: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/install-latest-update-windows-8-1
