Windows 8.1 update set my computer to its knees. Never to reboot again!

I really hate Microsoft sometimes. So is able to do a full backup. However the restore did not work. So I had to completely restore the computer back to factory default. Now I can't restore the backup. My backup is on an external drive however when I try to restore it and only sees today's backup.


Any ideas?

When the update shut my computer down it asked if I wanted to complete a backup 1st so I did. Here is what it shows on the drive that completed the backup.

Looks like your Seatools tried to do a backup and Windows tried to update at the same time. Likely corrupted the OS in the process.

Not sure how you'd go about recovering that honestly.
