hi guys I have a windows 8.1 custom built PC. recently I got a trojan which I removed through malware bytes. But when I went to reboot my PC, she wouldn't boot up. the boot up screen will start but then the screen goes black. My mouse will show up and the loading symbol shows next to the mouse and it will glitch around the screen. And occasionally the internet connection symbol will flash at the bottom of the screen but that's it.
I don't have another PC to download anything or do anything on. I'm on my ipad and it's the only thing I have to work with lol. I really need help to get my PC to boot up. Any suggestion is appreciated.

also how would I get into safe mode on windows 8.1?

Try pressing shift and the F8 button together on bootup, sometimes it works sometimes not. You most likely have other malware causing this issue or the malware was attached to a system file needed to boot. If you can perform a system restore back to a day before you ran malwarebytes, maybe we can get you back in business.

How to access safe mode on Windows 8.1:

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10:

- Type advanced when you are on the Start Screen (Windows 8 and 8.1) or type advanced into the Search Bar on the taskbar (Windows 10) and then click Change Advanced Start-up Options.

- Select Restart Now under Advanced start-up.

- Press Troubleshoot.

- Press Advanced Options.

- Press Start-up settings and then press Restart.

- Upon Windows rebooting, press 4 to enter Safe Mode.

Yeah I just realised that when I saw the thread title again... silly me!

If you had a Widows 8.1 disc or memory stick I'd try booting off that and either reformatting or doing a repair installation - or you could remove your HDD and plug it into another PC, remove anything important and then reinstall. But you don't have another machine which really makes things harder. :(
