Windows 8 auto repair loop

Yesterday i was restarting my laptop, i was doing this by holding down the power button to force shutdown, i accidentally removed my finger from the power button before this was complete, i started holding the button down again straight away, this time i held it until it turned off, now whenever i turn it on it starts auto repair then goes to a screen that that says auto repair could not repair your computer, could anybody help?

I would assume you have errors on the hard drive now. Do you what brand the drive is?

No, sorry the laptop is an asus that's all i know really, also i opened notepad with command prompt and checked the logfile and it said that auto repair was incompatible with my operating system (windows 8.1)

What exact OS? Windows 8 Pro 64 bit?

If you don't have a Windows disk, download the following and burn to DVD or USB 64 bit/ 32bit 8.1 - http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/windows-8-1-download/

Boot from the disk, select repair and allow it to finish.

If that doesn't work, go back into the bootable DVD and select command prompt and type sfc /scannow

let the scan finish.

then type chkdsk C: /F

This will check the disk and fix any issues.
