I'm sure you've all heard this question 100 times before, but I just decided to join this forum and was curious what everyone thinks. I didn't like it at first, but it's really grown on me. Windows 8 is such a bold move, and I really think they made a good choice. What do you guys think?

Excuse me. You don't have to be a dick. I'm simply asking a question, and wanted everyone's updated answer.

I think voyagerfan is actually referring to the guy who started the thread he linked to, not you.

Off topic, man that thread got me annoyed, i almost commented on it if he hadnt of been banned twice and the thread wasnt a year old :(

On topic: I havent tried Windows 8 yet, i may download the beta for a test but I like windows 7 very much but will probably stick with it as windows is expensive and I just bought this anyways :) Also i mean to try out other operating systems aswell, although probably not iOS because its too closed.

It used to be locked, but it seems it became unlocked.

And I'm currently installing the ISO on a virtual machine to see what the updates over time have done.

Odd, and wow, good idea! That will be interesting, i wonder if you could try to compare the results to windows 7, that would unearth if what people are saying is true. (That windows 8 is just a custom windows 7)

I tried the Consumer Preview using a virtual machine.
I hated trying to work around Metro so much I went and bought a copy of Win 7 Pro 32 bit before the prices went up.

Win 8 looks good, and UI changed a lot, but I don't know how about performance improvement. In fact, I will upgrade to 8 from 7 after final version out.

Recently, RTM preview version is out, it is good news for me :)
