Eh I am not forced to use IE6 lol.
I use Mozilla Firefox mostly and it runs great without lag on 512 MB of RAM memory even when I have more than 20 tabs opened at once when downloading a lot of MP3 music files.
If to you people Mozilla Firefox or some other WEB browsers need 1 to 2 GB of RAM memory or even more RAM memory in order to run properly then you are doing something SERIOUSLY wrong lol.
If JUST WEB SURFING needs so much RAM memory like some people say (what is BS by the way) then those people do not know how to properly use the OS and programs on it lol.
No offence, but it is really BS if you people need SO MUCH RAM memory just for surfing the WEB (no matter what WEB browser you use) lol.
I would understand you need so much RAM memory for WEB surfing if you have 100 windows opened at once and that each opened window has 100 tabs opened, but otherwise it's not neccessary.I would also understand you need so much RAM memory for WEB surfing if you have few running games (such as Crysis) minimized at the same time while surfing the WEB,but otherwise it is NOT neccessry to have SO MUCH RAM memory for just WEB surfing.
So if my super old PC handles let's say Mozilla Firefox so great without lag with so many tabs opened at once together with approximately 26 background programs running at the same time all the time plus with few foreground programs running such as WMP,VS and so on,THEN ALL I CAN SAY TO YOU IS:
You are doing something VERY wrong.
No offence to anyone of course, but seriously...the need for SO MUCH RAM memory for SO SIMPLE TASKS is just...BS.
I even know many people who upgrade from 4 GB of RAM memory to 8 GB of RAM memory because simple DESKTOP lags. And of course they were stupid enough to spend money and time to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM memory and their DESKTOP STILL LAGGED.
LoL...
It is so damn easy to make things run so damn great on low amount of RAM memory. All you need to do it so keep removing unneccessary objects from RAM memory every single milisecond automatically with either good payed programs for that or with your own program which you can make for yourself (like I did).
As for the CPU usage, same thing. You need to keep removing unneccessary calculaiton executions from the processor chip every single milisecond automatically with either good payed programs for that or with your own program which you can make for yourself (like I did).
Also it is important to have a program (either payed or made by you like I do) which will keep watching the RAM and CPU usage every milisecond automatically and then warn you once it reaches the critical level for NO REASON.And if that does happen, then perform the actions which I described in short above.
So conclusion...it is NOT neccessary to have a lot of RAM memory for so simple tasks such as simple WEB surfing on let's say this forum, youtube, flash WEB sites or any other WEB site(s).Unless if the WEB site you surf on contains God knows what lol (but that is usually not the case in 99.99% cases).
Sure you can spend time and money on upgrading RAM memory and CPU frequently, but that is not a way to solve the main problem directly. It is just a workaround.
I mean think about it...if let's say Google Chrome uses 70% of the RAM memory and a month ago it used 5% of the RAM memory...what will you do:
-immediately upgrade the RAM memory?
OR
-try to find out why the hell the same program now uses so much RAM memory for no reason if a month ago it did not?
So if my almost 15 years old PC can perform so many things with so much weaker hardware components and you need a LOT stronger hardware components to accomplish the same thing then all I can say is:
What the hell lol?!?!?!
I would understand if you need so strong hardware for games (especially these new modern ones),but for simple WEB browsing??????
Of course it also depends how good program(s) were coded and how good their optimizations were coded also.
Cheers!
