Windows Defence Virus On New Asus Laptop

Hey guys i have a laptop here only 3-5 months old got this "Windows Defence" virus on it and won't let the user connect to the internet at all (although i have updated malware bytes so seems to be only blocking ie). Just looking for the quickest route of action running a malware bytes fully updated scan right now on it just waiting for it to finish. Only problem is she needs the computer back a.s.a.p 4 hours.

I was thinking of running super anti spyware next then norton 360 which is installed on it atm that of course has done nothing to help/prevent the virus might even skip that and run ccleaner instead.

Is there anything else i should be running?

Post the malwarebytes log along with a hijackthis log and we'll see if there is anything else on the system. May have to run combofix.

Here is a screenshot of what has now been removed.

Fixed internet explorer connection issue along with updating problems. The virus sneakily set a proxy which didn't allow access to this machines local internet. I checked automatically detect settings in IE and wallah IE 8 is now working along with SuperAntiSpyware that has now fully updated and is running.

Yeah, most infections will change it to a proxy so that should be the first thing everyone checks when they lose internet. All issues are now gone I assume?

Rerun hijackthis and make sure this entry is gone. If not, have hijackthis fix the entry.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:29775

You should also have this entry removed.

Thanks john yeah I re-ran hijack this and that entry was gone and done a full scan of superantispyware which returned nothing. Checked norton was functioning and returned the laptop. Thanks for your help. :)
