Windows doesnt see current installation?

my windows got really messed up.. one day it froze and since then ive been battling to fix it.. I got a windows media center edition cd (same as i had before) .. now my problem is when i go into windows installation, it doesnt see my original windows installation. I mean when i get to the setup screen, if i try to install windows, it doesnt show my C:\ default windows installation there (hence i cant repair it).. btw i didnt format and all files are still there.. anyway to fix this?
 
Well you could boot off your CD and then delete the partitions, then create a new one, and have it reformat. You'll lose your data (unless you backup first) but it should solve your problem.
