i'm trying to install windows XP on my new rig. when i get to the part where it says its installing devices it generally freezes, if not there then when i get to the section where it installs the network. my friend is fairly sure its the memory,
i've got (2) patriot 2gb pc2-6400 packages (4gb total), i checked in the bios and it says its getting 1.87 volts yet on the package it says 2.0v i've tried doing memtest but it doesnt want to boot from there so i'll have to fiddle with that some more.
i'm fairly new at tuning a computer so i was just curious if this might be the culprit. if the voltage is the culprit what should i increase it to or by what increments should i increase it by?

asus p5n32-e SLI
bfg 8800gts
xion supernova 600w power supply(could this also be the problem? not enough pouwer?)
intel q6600
