Windows don't open fully, new laptop.

Hi,

I just got a new Dell XPS 15 and when ever I open a program, the window never fills the screen, there is about a 1cm gap from the top of the window to the top of the screen where I can see the desktop. It happens on all programms. What's the cure?

Many Thanks.

Click on the taskbar and drag the whole window to the top of the screens, then at the bottom right corner click and drag it bigger horizontally and vertically.

I tried that but it didn't work. I have found out that when you first start the laptop everything's fine, it's just after you close the lock the laptop then unlock it (closing/opening lid) that the windows suddenly have a gap at the top where the desktop peeks through (the three buttons (close, maximise, taskbar-ise) are still visible, the window is just shorter).

Infact, if the window is fine (after starting up), and I drag up the taskbar to the top of an open window, the window gets smaller and has a gap.

Maybe you aren't resizing it correctly and once you exit, it should remember the size you had it at. Not sure what else to tell you at this point. I've never had an issue with resizing windows.
