Windows error + gfx card

This is the 3rd time I'm getting this error. I was just playing COD4 and something messed up with the graphics (cant remember what) and caused the game to crash. It took a while but eventually cod4 got closed, but all I saw was my desktop at a rly small resolution like 800 x 600 and my computer was frozen. After about a while again, the monitor just went black (didnt go to power saving mode or anything).

So I reset and I sent the windows error report and I got this

http://wer.microsoft.com/responses/....9.9?SGD=0b6f5067-e534-477b-82a0-500ebfc3bf9e

I have all my drivers up to date. Any ideas on how to fix it and what's causing it?

ok maybe i dont have the latest drivers i checked and the newest came out yesterday ill install it and see if i still get the error

Yeah I got the latest driver which is for all 9 series cards

180.48

I dunno if it still causes crashes because I haven't tried cod4 yet. Trying to find a way to adjust fan speed again

the option to change fan speed with VDOTOOL (for palit cards) is gone, I dunno about rivatuner cause I never use it, Im dowloading NVIDIA system tools now

the program is a joke, where the hell is overclocking and fan speed, and why does it only show 2d clock speeds and not 3d?

I think that you would have to download a 2nd party program to overclock it. I dont think it has that option. I dont know about the fan speed my GFX card does not have a fan on it. Well no yet:P

ok I found the part where you overclock and change fan speed but yet again you are unable to adjust fan speed

so theres this thing thats optimal clock speed that finds the best for you, seems a little off, like 757 core, 2090 memory, 1730 shader

ill test both with 3dmark06 and see which is better

It's possible your overclock isn't completely stable. I've had to downward adjust mine a few times after thinking it was stable (higher clocks tested fine in benchmarks and stability tests), and the problems go away. Now, I don't get any crashing.

BTW, trusting Windows to tell you how to fix the problem isn't the best thing, as you know. ;)
