Hi All

I have Windows 8.1 installed on my PC with 16GB of RAM, just noticed that the paging file is set to 16GB, this is managed by Windows "System Managed" option.
Normally the paging file is only about 2GB on the PC, so can't understand why Windows has decided to set it so high. I know what the page file is for and how to set it manually and move it to another drive and the in's and out's of not having a page file at all with 16GB of RAM.
Just curious as to why Windows would set it soooo high.
Have a Laptop, with Windows 8.1 and page file set to system managed and it only 1.9GB with 8GB of RAM installed.
So can anyone through any light on this.

Cheers in Advance

By default Windows will always set your page file to the exact size of RAM installed

I have 8GB in my system, and Windows has set my PF to 8GB.

Nothing to worry about, if you don't like it, change it!
