...Where should I start? I have a verizon dsl (1.5mbps/s) connection, a Westell Wirespeed modem (Old, but works fine). I've tried a few attempts to get it working, even buying a new lancard. (bty I know everythings ok w/ it cause i'm using it on my mac now, man why cant windows be so easy... X/) I have a msi K9N-NEO mobo, w/ onboard nvidia network controller. I also have some "generic" PCI 10/100/1000 ethernet card. I'm using windows XP SP2 Home ED. So, can some 1 get me off on the right foot? I've (sadly) never installed internet on a windows (strangly enough though thats what I mainly work with X\) So... Oh, and after trying to connect, I get "Limited or No Connectivity" from the "Local Network." Also, I've contacted Verizon, and they say the connection is fine, so would I just need a new driver for my modem or a new modem all together? (I've also tried other cords, so its not a busted cord, and I'm NOT using a router, and also, I DO disable the opposite card when trying a diff ethernet connection.) All help will be appreciated! (My Speeling is treeibble, lol)

No clue unless you've changed your TCP/IP settings. I assume the modem has DHCP and will assign an address to your machine, so be sure nothing is entered unless you can get the IP address and what not to enter.

Well, my modem is supposed to assign an addres, but when i do "ipconfig" It dosent give me one, or it gives me an invalid one like 15.643.77.432 or some shiz like that. Could I use the ip address that my mac uses or are they all different?

Yes use the same ip address as your mac...if you still cant set it up call your isp they will walk you through it.

I take it you are using a router? You might have to configure the router also.

make sure in your control panel\network and internet connections\networkconnections you have 1(or 2) icons and that one of them is on and working if not right click it and repair connection if nothing happens then your not connected if something happens but ur still not getting the internet then its probably something wrong with your software...

If you could get the IP, subnet, gateway, and DNS(s) off your mac, manually entering them should work fine on your PC. Have you tried an ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew? And before someone says anything, sometimes a release is required. I have seen computers that would not release their DHCP address and required a restart!

Don't laugh, but all I was doing wrong was entering the wrong pasword for verizon. Lol. I just thought of it and all systems go now, lol. Sry for wasting ur time XD. My-B, Thx newayz
