Windows (Home) Expired

Guys, my windows just expired. I think the store where I bought my computer installed a pirated copy of windows. I googled for some help and found this link "http://keznews.com/1916_How_to_login_to_an_expired_Windows".
Question, if I access my files after following the directions from this link, can I move my files to other drives? Please help me recover my files. I just really don't know what to do and I'm no good at computers. Do I have to buy a portable hard drive too?

Yeah, I know. But what about my files? Is there any way I could restore them before the computer gets reformatted?

Also, if I buy a genuine windows does it mean the computer doesn't have to be formatted?

did you activate windows when you got the computer, if not, thats why this had happend. you will need to phone microsoft to activate it. windows itself wont expire, it the activation thing.

ok start the computer up and befour it logs in it will ask for you to activate windows, click activate by phone (may next to click next first) then tell it where you are, and it will give you a toll and toll-free number, phone that and follow what the switchboard says, it will ask you for 48 digit number, 8 blocks of 6 numbers, type it in and wait, it will then give you a 48 digit number to enter into text box at the bottom of the window. once done click next and it should let you use you computer again.
