Windows Home Server 2013

(Edit: May be in the wrong forum, just remembered there is an operating system forum below...)Is there a new Windows Home Server to be announced any time soon? I want to build a home server, but I do not want to buy the software if in two months it will be obsoleted.

Also, for hosting a game server, would Windows Home Server 1 be good in a VM?

I don't think Microsoft have any plans to replace Home Server 2011. I think you're good to go.
