I can log on and use my account. But when I try to update at Microsoft.com it asks to verify that my Windows is legal, then it does, then it asks to do it again, and loops indefinitely.
I created another User Account and updated without any problem.
But my old account still can't be validated for updates.
And (and this is why I'm posting): every time I try to install a program that uses Windows Installer (like Safari) I get the message that it's not accessible. I've downloaded the latest version (4.5?) and installed it. I've done "run-->net start MSIServer". But the problem continues.
I assume it's related to the profile problem - but whatever the problem is, can anyone advise me how to get Installer running?
PS: How about the "service" need for "Windows Help and Support" - where can I get that?
