Windows Installer?

Ok, here it goes. I downloaded AVG Anti-virus and ran it. It got rid of some viruses/spyware I was having trouble with, but now I have a problem...

When I restarted the computer, this popped up: Windows Installer: Preparing to Install.

The this popped up: HP Product Assistant

So the HP Product Assistant tried to install, but failed and failed until I canceled it, which led to this popping up: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the HP Product Assistant dick and click ok."

Ok, so what is going on here??? Did AVP remove something that I needed? This thing pops up whenever I start the computer and it's very annoying. How do I get it to stop popping up at startup?

Also, I have a Dell, but my copier/printer is an HP.

But why would this be happening? I just want it to go away at start up. Is there any way to do that?

because AVG probably found a file belonging to the HP program which it perceived to be a threat to your machine and you just deleted what it found (i don't know if you read specifically wut AVG found before you deleted them, but that's wut it sounds like)

just re-install the program if you need to use it....otherwise remove it from Add/Remove Programs
