My Windows XP says its connected to the modem but it will not recieve internet. When I go to Network Connections it is missing the Internet selection.

My internet does connect though on Linux.

I have had this problem before and it has been solved with a simple Disable/Enable but this time whenever it attempt to reenable it says "Connection Failed"

What is wrong!

Try this. I have this problem quite a lot, and although the winsockfix (the link i gave) doesnt fix it for me, it fixes it for alot of other people. What i end up doing is turning my modem and PC off for about 30 minutes, then turn them on, and it seems to work.

What are you conecting though? make sure you have drivers instaled for your nework port(ethernet, usb, phone line modem ext ext)

It was connecting fine up until a couple days ago.

So i did that fix thing and now it connects to the internet for about a minute. Then it just stops connecting to the net. But Windows says im still connected.

This is really annoying.
