for the second time now i find my self with random device drivers that windows will not load. for no apparent reason my cdrw drive,sound card and software enumerator drivers will not load. they are being detected by windows but are not functioning. when i tried to update them from the internet they begin to load and then windows tells me there was a problem loading the drivers. i cant do a repair because i cant access my cd drive. icant run sfc because even though i copied the i386 folder to windows and pointed the registry to it it still asks me for the cd. i have tried all the things i know but with no joy. . i think it is a problem with the registry but am not sure what kind.
has anybody got any ideas i am running win xp sp2.
