Windows Media Center Edition Problem

I just installed Windows Media Center Edition 2005 w. SP2 on my PC. However, when I try to install drivers from my motherboard, graphics card, and sound card cd's, I get an error that says... The install shield engine (ikernel.exe) could not be launched. The RPC server is unavailable. I can't access the internet either because internet explorer isn't installed for some reason.

is this a burned copy of media center?

yes...i switched it back to my old xp pro tho because i couldnt fix it, turns out somthing called DCOM was switched off, the program that lets me install some programs, and i couldnt start it back up... I heard of some sort of "ghetto" hookup where you can install media center with just it's second disc, does anyone know how?

i'm dont have that problem. so you said you are using the burn copy maybe thats the problem.
