i have a laptop i was wondering if i could upgrade the system to WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER from WINDOWS XP PRO? can i add a tv tuner to it?(Compaq EVO PIV 1.8GHz, 512MB, 30GB, DVD, XP Pro )

Yes you can upgrade to Media Center, and Yes - purchase an external tv card which will connect via USB.
