Windows Media player 10

I have a correctly installed codec, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled media player 10, I have also downloaded the dvd codec selecter from Microsoft and yet my window media player plays dvds, but I cant get a picture just sound....any ideas?

try downloading the DivX codec.

i used to have the same problem with my dvds and dvd rips. they wok fine after downloading ffdshow though.

Installed the program and still just sound Is there any option in ffdshow that I should select/deselect?

"DVD Decoder Pak" search for a torent of p2p, i dont remember where i got it from

try downloading the DivX codec.

Has nothing to do with decoding DVDs.

yup, nothing ffdshow wont fix

1. DivX and ffdshow are two different things
2. Neither do dvd playback

To answer the question, what you need is the MPEG2 codec (and i use the term codec loosely as it isnt always really a codec). Something like PowerDVD or WinDVD will give you what you need
