Windows media Player Problem

In my WMP Library I have several Videos and Songs that I have deleted from my computer but they are still showing in my Library.
I have tried to delete them from WMP Library but I can not delete them.
I have searched my computer for the files but they are not on my computer yet they still show in the WMP Library.
Can any one please shed some light on how I can clean the WMP Library of these files.
