Am having problems with my Windows Media Player as when I try and play video files, I can hear the sounds but there's no picture!
I thought it may be a codec problem so downloaded DivX player which plays the files perfectly with sound and picture but still no improvement with WMP. The problem is that I can't work out a way to watch online videos and streaming using DivX player so am stuck with the same sound but no picture problem.
Does anyone know why this could be and how I can fix it? Its been driving me nuts!

you need a codec to display it correctly. Try downloading a codec pack as there are A LOT of codecs out there.

hi!
Just a situation that I had with no picture just sound. Perhaps it can attribute to your problem? I couldn't see any picture but the sound was perfect. I found out that most of the media films and news require at least a broadband speed to see both sound and picture. There should be requirements specified for using each audio/video media. as a matter a fact now the new media out requires even faster speed. The other thing could be that the specified media requires shockwave and/or macrormedia software to be preloaded prior to using audio/video? I hope this helps.
